Britney said it best, “..not a girl, not yet a woman…”
My baby girl headed off to Year 7 camp this week and for the fist time since she was in Grade 3, she didn’t want me to walk her in, help her with her gear and wait with her for the bus. I won’t lie – I was a little heartbroken. I respected her wishes, dropping her out the front of school, squeezing her so tight and staying a little while to watch as she headed in with her bags. Off she went. So happy. So independent, and full to the brim with nervous excitement!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every weekend was a long one?
We are back to school and work today after a whopping four day long weekend. The kids had a Curriculum day on Friday and then of course, yesterday was the Labour Day public holiday here in Victoria.

Our kids have always been big readers. Everywhere they go – there is always a book or two in hand.

Almost 3 months has passed since you turned 12 and graduated Grade 6. The end of an era.
3 months of crazy, busy, silly season and fun, and I am only just now finding the time to sit down and reflect on you and all your amazingness.
