How was your Christmas?
Ours was lovely. Different, but lovely.
We set up our little tree and made some makeshift stockings from Santa hats.
Frank – our Elf on the shelf, spent his last day with us on the 24th, and left some gifts for two lucky kids – new pyjamas and a little teddy key tag for their backpacks.
We celebrated on Christmas Eve with a 6 course dinner on the sand, under the stars here at our hotel in Cha-Am, Thailand. The weather was absolutely perfect. Hotel staff were dressed in Santa hats and elf costumes. There was live music, tables beautifully dressed, and delicious food. We all had a great time.
We left Santa some treats and a little note and were all in bed just before midnight.
Christmas morning was an early start. We had two very excited kids up at 4:30am!!
Santa had been and they each had gifts waiting for them.
We figured as we were up so early, we’d head to the beach and catch the sunrise. It was just beautiful and such a nice way to start our day.
After working out time zones, we called and spoke to family back home and connected with friends.
Our day was very relaxed. An early breakfast straight after sunrise, a morning poolside and Christmas dinner in the village down the road – Thai style.
So, there it is. Our very first Christmas abroad.
I hope you all had a wonderful day with your loved ones, wherever you are in the world.
What’s planned for New Years Eve?
Big love,
Cxx
