Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, is where most tourists tend to flock for their first visit to Hawaii and we were no different.
During our recent trip, we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, which is centrally located directly opposite the International Market Place. A great spot with shopping, restaurants and the beach all a stones throw away.
Whilst it may not be the beachfront location so many desire, it was definitely very convenient for us, and the kids loved staying in the thick of it with all of their favourite stores and eateries so close by.
We stayed in a spacious two room suite which had two double beds, a separate lounge room with dividing door, sofa bed, balcony with partial ocean views and a large bathroom.
It was the ideal set up for our family of 4, and would comfortably sleep up to 6.
Amenities included not one, but two 48-inch LCD televisions, mini fridge, microwave, Keurig tea and coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and safe.
The Neutrogena toiletries were also a hit with us girls.
The Lobby is just beautiful. Floor to ceiling windows with views of happy holiday-goers passing by. A brilliant Business Centre (work space) off to the corner.
Plenty of gorgeous seating for those waiting to check in or out. A very stylish, well thought out space.
To one end of the lobby, down a few steps, there is a market place fully stocked with supplies from sunscreen and washing powder to cold drinks and snacks.
The pool is on the third level, and overlooks the busy street below. The perfect spot for people watching! A fully stocked bar area with friendly staff waiting to take your order makes a few hours poolside very enjoyable.
I can vouch for the “Local Mai Tai” – delicious! The pool bar uses 100% compostable bioplastic cups, which I was very impressed with.
We also brushed up on our pool table skills – also on level 3, right near the swimming pool.
Whilst the Hilton Garden Inn may not have all the bells and whistles of some other big resorts in Waikiki, the location was just perfect, and it was the convenience factor that won us over.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend to other travelling families looking to enjoy some time in Waikiki.
Other useful extras for making life a littler easier:
– ATM located in the Lobby
– Coin laundry
– Tour Desk
– Valet Parking
– Luggage hold
“Our goal is to make your stay better and brighter” The Hilton Garden Inn promise.
Thank you so very much to Terri and the friendly team at Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach for taking care of us and welcoming us as guests of your Hotel.
