Review: Le Méridien Saigon, Vietnam

November, 2017

If you’re looking for a family friendly hotel in Ho Chi Minh City with style, luxe and comfort – you can’t go past Le Méridien Saigon.

Greeted with a warm smile as the door opens, “Xin chào”.
The lobby is large and sophisticated. Pod chairs, sofas and coffee tables well positioned overlooking the busy street and river. (The kids loved the swivelling pod chairs)
An enormous light sculpture hangs from the lobby ceiling and replicates floating bubbles – quite the sight.
Check-in is professional and a relatively speedy process.

Entering our room on Level 12, a Grand Deluxe room with an extra single bed. It is spacious yet cosy. Bedroom to the left, family lounge space to the right, complete with 42″ smart TV, perfect!
The bathroom is ginormous. Floor to ceiling black granite, a huge bath tub with ample vanity space. The shower is oversized with ideal water pressure.
The bed linen is high quality and pillows are just as I like them – not too soft, not too hard.
Along the window, overlooking the city, is a long floating work bench with chair. The perfect spot to catchup on emails, or simply sit and watch the world go by.
The room is fitted with motorised blinds, conveniently operated beside the king size bed.

Breakfast is right up the stairs from the lobby, or you may take the lift.
An extensive selection to choose from. Vietnamese corner, with Banh mì and Pho as well as dumplings, spring rolls, noodle and rice dishes.
Also on offer: Danish pastries and donuts. Fresh fruits, bacon, sausage and eggs – cooked anyway you’d like. Pancakes, crepes and waffles. Toasted sandwiches, cereals and yoghurt. Gourmet cheeses and cold meats…even ice-cream. Spoilt for choice!

The Pool and Gym are located on Level 9. The pool is open air, but undercover. Sun lounges are located both under the roofline and also on the balcony directly in front of the pool and overlooks the Saigon River.

One evening, after a long day out and about exploring the city, we ordered room service.
Within 20 minutes, our dinner was at the door. Fresh and tasty and well priced.

The Tour Desk, also located in the Lobby, makes getting out and about to do some touristy things super convenient. We booked the Water Puppets show and it was great!

We found Le Méridien Saigon to be the perfect hotel for our family whilst staying in Saigon. In a prime position alongside the Saigon River, it was easy to navigate our way through the city by foot, or the friendly staff arranged a taxi for us from right out the front of the hotel.
The hotel is only minutes away from some of the towns best attractions. Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office and City Hall, as well as many eateries and shopping centres.
