30th January, 2017
…and just like that – we’re back to reality.
41 whole days.
Almost 6 weeks of Summer holidays are over and tomorrow the kids are back to school. This year Lil’s a big Grade 5’er (GULP) and Spence is in Grade 3. I can’t quite believe it!
Reflecting on the holidays a few days ago, I made a passing comment to Andrew about how I thought they’d been pretty uneventful, until he reminded me of all we’d done over the past month and a half. Pizza picnics by the beach, movie dates, day trips, weekends away, hanging out at the local pool, baking sessions, birthday celebrations…
We really enjoyed the break. A break from routine. From early nights and early mornings. From meal planning and structure. But now, I think everyone is ready to get back into the swing of things.
I know the kids are definitely ready to get learning again, keen to see their friends and get to know their new teachers.
For me, I’ve been so grateful for the lazy mornings and some down time. It’s given me the chance to think about what’s ahead and put some plans into action.
A few days ago I had a random encounter with a lady named Anabel.
She came to our place to collect some ‘Free to good home’ items I had posted online. We got chatting and she was telling me how 2017 is the “Universal Year 1” – meaning 2017 is the 1st year in a 9 year numerology cycle. The fresh start to a new cycle of creativity, learning and growth.
Now is the time to plant seeds of intention apparently.
(Check out this fabulous read here.)
I truly believe people come in and out of our lives right when they’re meant to.
I may never see Anabel again, but she has definitely given me a bit to think about.
Anyway, I hope you’ve all enjoyed the past few weeks – January has gone by in a flash!
Tell me – are you planting any seeds in 2017?
Big love,
